Living in Loudoun County has many perks. Â Close proximity to DC, tons of shopping, excellent schools, you name it! Â There’s not much you can’t find in Loudoun County, but there are times that the allure of the city wanes and a leisurely drive is just what you need to get away from the daily grind of work, school activities, etc. Â Fortunately, a short drive down 66 takes you directly to the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, where you have access to Apple Orchards, Pumpkin Patches and my personal favorite…. local wineries!
Did you know that there are over 20 local wineries only an hour to an hour and a half drive from Loudoun County?  Click here to see a list of Wineries in the Shenandoah Valley.  This link will also help you route your trip, allowing you to choose from 30 Vineyards in the Shenandoah Valley.
If Apple Orchards and Wineries aren’t your thing, National Parks are again welcoming new and return visitors to Skyline Drive following the Government shutdown. Â If you’ve never driven all or a part of Skyline drive, you are missing out on a scenic 105 mile drive that spans from Front Royal to Rockfish Gap, VA. Â With scenic views and 75 lookout points, pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it! Â For more information on planning your trip, special safety precautions and a printable map, click here.
