Brambleton Ribbon Run/Walk

Brambleton will be hosting the 7th Annual Brambleton Ribbon Run/Walk on Saturday, April 5th, 2014.  The 5K and 10K is open to all Brambleton Residents and beyond, this run/walk supports the local charity Step Sisters.  The race begins at 7:45am for 10K and 7:55am for the 5K.  Come ready to Run/Walk and dressed in pink in support of breast cancer research.

This event is for the whole family and all age groups. So bring your family, friends, co-workers and little ones to this great event.  They even have a “Kid Fun Run” for families with children.  If you are an avid runner they offer certified 10K and 5K races with state of the art timing devices.  Or you can join as group and run together.  My moms group will be doing it as a team with our babies, if you are attending this year look out for us in our pink bedazzled shirts!

Now the fun part.  If you are registered for the event you will receive a grab and go breakfast from Blue Ridge Grill, I hear they make the most amazing breakfast burritos in town!  All runners will also get a great t-shirt and virtual swag bag.

Fees for the race:

5k/10k: $25 -Feb. 28, $30 -Mar. 1-April 1, 18 & under $17 at all times 5k/10k, Packet Pick Up/Race Day: $35

The Ribbon Run/Walk is the biggest fundraiser  for Step Sisters that supports breast cancer research and supports local residents who are under going cancer treatments.  Ashley Campolattaro a Brambleton Resident, co-founded Step Sisters in 2005 after her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.  If you can’t attend the race but still want to support the great work that they do feel free to make a donation on their site.
